Loose the ego

1 Peter 2:11-17
First column: (re-copy scripture but not copy and paste)

Friends, this world is not your home so don't get cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they will be won over to God's side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives. Make the master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect authorities, whatever their level; they are God's emissaries for keeping order. It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you're a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Love God. Respect the government.

Second column: restate in my words

Another reminder that this world is not my home. I'm just passing through. While I am here I need to avoid acting puffed up and haughty about anything including my beliefs. Just do what is right and thereby lead others to God by living simple and right. I have a chance to make God proud of me by doing these things. I am living in a free country where I can do just about anything I want and the best thing I can do with that freedom is serve, worship, praise, speak about, and follow God. While doing that I need my spiritual family and to love them.

Third column: I will.....

I will make it a point to share my faith with everyone even those who don't what to hear it. But I won't shove it down their throat as they do their own prejudices to me. For some reason I thought that joining in with poor humor and not speaking out against prejudices would simply make those people accept me so I could show them the right way. In this scripture it says to loose my ego. Forget about fitting in and just follow God or loose your soul. Yikes, its real easy to live this way at work where it is a mission place....but what about at home where visitors are far away from God. I will leave the room. I don't want to loose my soul because I want to fit in.

Things are a mess at my home.
